One of the hottest ingredients in the world of equine supplements is Sodium Hyaluronic Acid, or �HA.� Hyaluronic acid (HA) originally was developed as a drug to be injected into the horse joints. Up until recently, we were unable to find clinical data on oral forms of HA. The original HA products that came on the market years ago use Sodium Hyaluronate, which has a very large molecular structure and are very difficult for horses to absorb. Dosage levels were fairly low and these two facts combined caused low success rates.
That has changed!
The HA molecule is quite large (as with the popular chondroitin sulfate supplement). Look for an HA supplement that has a smalled molecular structure when purchasing HA. Although we are the first to admit that HA (especially pure forms) can be very expensive, the benefits outweigh the cost in many scenarios.
